Little Universe

I was reading a book called cosmology of the curious. Which discusses some fascinating facts about our own existence in a larger lens. Literally hundreds of mega scale telescopes looking at the sky day and night listening to the cosmos, has brought us some inevitable conclusions about our own universe. If you feel like you do not have energy to get up from your couch and move some of the stuff in your room or from your bed for it to look better, I will say think again. As, I just found out that there need to be only 10^-26kg/m^3 density for the universe to collapse on its own. That means if the universe has 6 protons per square meter, its fate is sealed into a gigantic collapse in the far away future. We are just lucky to have so much density around us, while most of the universe is empty space. But I am not here to discuss about the shape of the universe according to its density parameters. I am just wondering what does even matter. As, I do not and will not live in such a vast space and such a vast time scale. I have a little universe to worry about.

Little Universe.
The little universe I am living is just here. In this empty room with one another unknown person I am sharing it. This notepad, I am typing some words. The book that I have in front of me halfway read, for reference, and a Cup of water, to cool me down. I share the room with a bothering fly which has a liking to the smell of my skin. To be honest beyond few hundred yards, I cannot see or feel anything. My senses are not even sharp enough to hear the vibrations of earth like a seismometer.
Someone just asked me whether I believe in astrology. My answer was yes and no. As you understand the answer is yes in the point of view of the big universe. In the big universe everything is interconnected. How far away each and those tiny stars are, there are few photons hit our eyes once in a while which were emitted by them. And mind you, millions of people look at the night sky each and every year, and couple of them change their actions because of stars, which eventually lead to an alternate universe due to the chaos theory in action. So, yes in the big universe everything affects everything.
Astrology and happiness in Little Universe
But from the point of view of the little universe, astrology has no effect. In this limited portion of subjective reality, weak starlight is just a weak force. The lunch I had just a while ago has a bigger impact on my course of actions than starlight. In this little universe what matters is what I have immediate access to. The quality of my thoughts, the things I can touch feel and taste. Sounds I am hearing now have more meaning to my life than anything outside this scope of influence. Hence, I do not worry about people I do not see, forests I cannot reach or cars that I cannot drive. As I can create a beautiful garden inside my own mind with all the tools available at my disposal in this little universe. I am not sure you get the idea. But, creating happiness in such a little space is very simple, and as rewarding as chasing ambitions and dreams.
