The inside man - essay.

Part 1 - the inside man.

Imagine a man, in a house. While within this house he would know, everything inside of it. He would know the tables and chairs. He would know what pictures hang on the walls of his living room. He would know the smell and the color of his bedsheets. He would know people inside of it. Basically, he would move from one place to another inside his own house. Without disturbing anything. But re-arranging them for his use.

Part 2- the outside man.

Now consider this man outside of his house. He would know the sunlight. He would know the Robbins. He would know the garden and the orchard that exist. He would know the green apple tree and the willow tree. He would look up at the sky from time to time while resting in the Medow. He would touch the dew on daffodils before they were evaporated by the summer heat in the morning. He or she would feel like they are living. And they possess a soul.

Man sits on grass in a sunlit park under a tree, facing away with a backpack beside him in warm golden light.

Part 3- the middleman?

Now imagine This man is your soul. The same soul you think exist within you. Now we can ask some serious questions about our own existence of this soul. Or the person we think that is inside of us. Consider following questions.

Does this soul lives outside of your body? Beyond your eyes ears, skin and the tongue?

Simple answer is no. They do not live in so called outside wall. It cannot go beyond the walls of the prison of the body. You can touch a flower, see its colors, smell its fragrance and even bite a petal. Yet, all those are possible as only as you are there with that flower. The moment you leave that and move your consciousness into something else; the relative existence of that thing you touched becomes questionable.

Does this soul lives inside of your body? beyond your eyes, ears, skin and the tongue?

Simple answer is no. The moment the piece of cake stopped touching your Tonge, the taste it produced will disappear. You cannot feel the taste of the food inside your stomach. You cannot taste the mango you haven't eaten yet. So, the taste of a mango cannot be known while it is outside, neither when it is inside. What does that prove, is that the knower within us, which we like to call the soul doesn't live outside, or inside of us. We just meet him at the exact moment there is friction between so called things and senses. And it disappears, the moment friction is lost.

The friction, creator of things.

We can further explore characteristics of this friction. However, that will be beyond what I wanted to tell in this short essay. You might take it from here. As an example, you would understand that the soul which exists due to friction, only last for a short period of time. And it moves from one sense to the other like the pointer of a Turing machine. Nothing permanent remains from each of these interactions, but just another memory which creates ripple effects over time.

I find it fascinating, when I learn a truth about myself. When I realize, I am the creator of the world with my own frictions. Maybe I can choose when it exists, or when it disappears. Do you think there is a possibility, that this relative world of ours only lasts only as long as we choose it to exist?

A dementia patient often has a different reality than the shared reality of the many. So the caregiver of a dementia patient spends a lot of time with someone living in a different reality. An interesting situation worthy of contemplation.
