What is a better way of communication?

Inadequacy of words.

There are many words in English language. I use it as a case study here; however, you can choose any language. There are enough words, so anyone cannot even memorize if given a lifetime. Today My Oxford dictionary is thicker and pages are thinner, than a decade ago. It seems new words are accumulating at a faster rate, just with advancement of the science. However, I say these words are inadequate to describe the nature. The reason is the nature is more complex. It fluxes through time in a rapid unimaginable rate (if we agree to the fact that the time is a thing). Imagine a sunflower, which blossom in the early morning hours and move around the clock to end up looking at dusk. How can you explain this phenomenon without dropping any details.

Consider, the following ways of describing a sunflower.

1. A golden sunflower stood proudly in the summer heat, its bright face following the sun across the endless blue sky.

2. Its yellow petals spread like tiny rays of sunshine, capturing the warmth of a beautiful summer afternoon.

3. Standing tall on its green stem, it turned its face gently towards the sun, as though watching an old friend pass by.

4. The sunflower wore a golden crown, bathing in sunlight as the hours slowly slipped away.

5. As the sun travelled from east to west, the sunflower followed its journey with the quiet devotion of a faithful admirer.

6. Its bright yellow petals danced in the summer breeze, while its dark brown center gazed endlessly at the moving sun.

7. Beneath the scorching summer sky, the sunflower stood like a little sun of its own, borrowing light from the greater one.

8. From morning's first light to the afternoon's fading warmth, it kept turning its face, unwilling to miss a single moment of sunshine.

9. The sunflower seemed to measure time not by clocks but by the changing position of the sun above its head.

10. As the summer day unfolded, the sunflower remained a silent observer, turning slowly with the sun, as though the two were sharing a secret conversation.

None of these capture the moments what sunflower undergoes. But all of these carry a tiny bit of truth in it. Not the entire thing. The entire thing which happened to sunflower is rapidly become an uncaptured past, except for few memories and few photos that we take. How can we make sense of such a world? Is there a better alternative?

Nonverbal communication, is it a better way of communication?

Gestures, facial expressions, and even silence can communicate. Often these are without words, obviously. When we talk with someone there is always more than just words. There is a second message given without even any words. And this sometimes is more important than the words. But the problem is you cannot interpret these nonverbal communications with words. You just need to feel them with your senses. Observe them and let them be. Just like you can do with a sunflower. The question remains, is it a better way of communication?

When you are watching a sunflower, you just need to watch it. Just feel it's presence, the journey through time. And that is it. There is no more and no less to it that what you just experienced. And the experience also would vanish moment to moment. Rapidly than any speedy car those humans ever going to build. You can call this a form of nonverbal communication, or simply mindfulness. There is no inherent value in doing this thing. Except it is just the experiencing the existence itself. Who are we if we really do not know what is the existence itself is?

This article has no specific purpose, no specific message, that is given by words, and there is no prescription. But you might get the message given by the words. If you read between the lines and contemplate on what is not said here, in relevance to your own existence in life.
