Why you cannot stick to a habit? Is it because of the sky?

I had hard time sticking to habits. Just like you. Yes, I have read those famous hundred books about habits. From BJ Fogg's tiniest habits to Brain Tracy's eating frogs. It still feels yucky to eat my frogs. Whenever I find something new, the mind would say, this is the thing. This is the answer I was looking for. This could potentially solve all my problems. Such as atomic habits. Bloom's taxonomy. Or champion mentality They really did work to extent. But the mind is not consistent. It is by nature fluctuant. And forever changing like the sky.

Mind changes, moment to moment.
This is one of the most important lessons I have learnt from mindfulness. The mind is fluctuating, chaotic at times and calm at other times. What seemed enthusiastic and empowering yesterday is not anymore. Sometimes it's even dull. And sadly there is no explanation to it. I am sure there are thousands of so-called "success gurus" out there who would oppose me when I say this, that the rules or ten steps they give are not going to work. But I think it's because of the lies they preach everyday. They just need followers and believers. The ones who shatter their beliefs and system of lies are basically enemies. Why do they want to make the believers is, only because the believers are the ones who add value to their own ideas. Not the ideas themselves generated are the great, or the ultimate truth. Anyone who follows these visions other than ones which come directly from inside by mindfully observing oneself should be prepared to be perplexed and surprised when life chose to hit with a storm. Money or human values are going to be lost in space like stardust. In this way the mind is remarkably similar to the sky.
Can you see the remarkable similarity with the sky?
I have written about the sky many times in the past. With good reason. Think about it. Have you ever seen a sky which is similar twice ever? It cannot happen. We can artificially categorize days as sunny, windy, cloudy and gloomy with occasional storms. Yet it is markedly dynamic. From second to second. A millisecond to millisecond, the sky changes. Sometimes slowly, sometimes rapidly, yet no sky is ever going to last any duration more than the time you take to observe it.

Why You cannot stick to a habit?
Compare this to your mind. It's dynamic. Like the sky is. To make progress, and all the advice from gurus to work, there should be some consistency. I am not sure how many people have seen and understood that. Inconsistency is the inherent nature of the mind. Yet we see some progress, success and positive thinking works. People have really become wealthy and successful spiritually by the metrics of society. But would you believe that it is sustainable?
The success and apparent positivity we see in life, is due to our own illusionary vision. Just like we see four seasons in a year, we see consistencies in our mind. Just like we see this summer is like last year summer, we see the motivated and shined mind last whenever we meet our guru. Or in January. But when we look carefully we can see it is not the same motivation. It's just motivation number 342165 which has different reasons than the one before. So can we even call it motivation? When is it a new one each time? Just like the sky and the summer.
Now I think I have given enough information for you to forgive yourself when you fail, your next big objective. Or even when you are successful to be humble. It's just the sky. A new sky. And hopefully this insight will make you be on the ground till you horizontalize from the weakness of old age.
Just today I was watching an episode of Abbott Elementary. A young teacher was discouraged because she thought she had it all figured out, but what worked the last couple of years wasn’t working with her students anymore. Her veteran colleagues explained that figuring it out means knowing things are always changing.
